Q: Does coffee made in Keurig K-Cup machine, not enough kick than regular brew?
I recently purchased a Keurig K-cup machine with Green Mountain coffee. I think it is the best and my wife was in full agreement... at first... now she is saying it has NO affect on waking her up in the morning, but if she drinks the nasty folgers at work, she claims she is alive and kicking after just drinking a half a cup. I think it is in her mind, any one else have a similar experience?
A: The caffeine content from your Keurig machine should be just as much as the stuff she's drinking at work. The strength or boldness of the coffee is probably different, but not the caffeine content. If you haven't tried them already, make sure you are buying the Extra Bold "EB" K-Cups. They contain more ground coffee and will result in a stronger cup with more caffeine.
Q: One-cup coffee machines at the office? what's the best?
I have a Keurig machine at home and absolutley love it (they use k-cups). We are looking to get a one-cup maker that uses either k-cups or the coffee pods, I just called Kaurig customer service and they were terrible and not helpful at all. are there any other services that rent you the coffee machine and you buy coffee for it every month? I know there are the coffee pods, but what machines do you use it with?
A: we use the flavia system, our vendor is aramark. the service is reliable and the coffee is delicous. they even offer teas and hot chocolates all made with the same easy to use machine. the machines also take creamer "pods."
Q: Starbucks coffee in K cups? Will this ever be?
I have a Keurig coffee brewer and LOVE it. Wonder if Starbucks coffee will ever be made in the K Cup format that this type of coffee machine uses. Are they competitors or not?
A: In time they will all be under one ownership give it time
Q: Can I use loose tea leaves with my Breville/Keurig 'My K-cup' brewer?
I have the 'My K-cup' for a Breville Keurig coffee/tea/hot chocolate brewer that I recently purchased, and I was wondering if I can use loose tea leaves in it instead of loose coffee. It doesn't say anything in the instruction manual about it. Have any of you successfully done this?
A: Am not too sure about the Breville, but I thought Keurig usually can only use thier patented K-cups. Your model might comes with pod to brew coffee grounds, if this is the case then you should be able to use tea leaves...
Q: What stores sell k-cups for a Keurig coffee maker? I do not want to shop online.?
A: Check stores like KitchenWares and specialty coffee shops.
Hope that helps!
Q: Keurig Single Cup Coffee Maker, who owns one?
MY wife is a coffee connoisseur, if you will, and I'd like to get her one for her upcoming B-day. I'm looking at the B60 "Special Edition" or the B70 "Platinum". Anybody have one that really likes it, or hates it? Would you buy a different model? Thanks.
And where's the most economical place to buy the K-cups?
A: I never heard of this item until this past weekend. My niece owns one. She was showing it off in the kitchen then brewed me a cup of Swiss Chocolate Almond in about 45 seconds. It was great coffee! She said she would recommend it to anyone! Hope this helps.
Q: Recommendations on single serve coffee makers? Pods, K-cups, etc?
Our company is switching from Starbucks to a local brewer whose coffee is so weak I cannot even taste it. I want to get a single serve machine to keep in my office. I don't drink coffee every day, but when I do I want it to be tasty.
My last company has Keurig machines, and I never found a coffee that I liked. Any recommendations on other systems? Thanks.
A: Doesn't Folgers make some single serve coffee packet things?
<--- Ready to die
Q: keurig coffee maker--need k-cups?
K, so I bought this keurig single-serve coffee maker, but it needs special coffee things called "k-cups" and I ordered some online, but can I get them in grocery stores, or buy them anywhere in a store?
A: You can get them at Costco or BJ's if you have any in your area. Some supermarkets sell them as well.
I have one of those machines and LOVE it.
Hope that helps :)
Q: El. Ed. Teachers: Ideas for reusing/recycling the little plastic K-cups from the Keurig coffee maker?
The K-cups don't have a number on them, so I don't know if they can be recycled. But we thought that maybe a local school could use them for kids' arts and crafts projects. Any ideas of what the kids could do with them???
In case you haven't seen K-cups... they are little lightweight plastic cups with foil on top and coffee or coco or tea inside. The Keurig machine pokes a hole in the top and bottom and brews your beverage. Then, the cups are disposable, but what a waste!
The good news is that we analyzed the Keurig machine vs. many offices having individual coffee pots or going to a coffee shop for a beverage in a disposable cup, and we determined that we are better off environmentally with the Keurig machine. That said, there is still waste with the K-cups. So... we need your ideas!!!
Thanks!
A: The art class could build a huge statue, get on tv, and beg for funds for the arts in their school.
Q: Is whey protein still effictive when I drink coffee?
I wake up in the morning and have my cup of coffee. Then about 30-45 mins later i go do my morning workout routine. after workout, i drink a gnc whey isolate protein shake mix. after that i normally have another cup of coffee. (sorry, i love the coffee :D) anyways, does the coffee or the caffeine in the coffee make any difference of how the protein is digested? i mean, does it make a difference that i drink coffee??k coffee?
A: No your body will digest the protein just fine coffee or no coffee.
Q: I need help with my Keurig coffee machine?
I have been using my Keurig machine making coffee with the K cups for about 7 months. This afternoon, I was in the kitchen, no where near the coffee maker when all of a sudden it started pouring water out of the spout, steaming and making brewing noise. When I opened up the pod holder, the pod that was in there from this morning had burst and there were coffee grounds all over the inside of the pod holder. I unplugged it right away, cleaned it up and now when I plug it in it's dead. No lights, nothing. Did anyone else ever have this happen to them? Any ideas or suggestions?
A: I've had my Keurig for about almost two years now and love it. Double check to see if your machine is plugged into a socket that has a GFI. It sounds like a power surge or something of that nature. If that's the case you need to hit the little red button on the socket. I forget this from time to time!! I've been hoping mine would kick the bucket so I could get the model that brews 3 sizes instead of the one I have that only brews 2. You can also call 1-888-try-gmcr. They are super helpful...it's where I get my coffee. Good luck and I hope it works by morning!!!!
Q: Will you have enough change to buy a cup of coffee if Obama is elected with his tax plan?
AND DONT BE SO GULLIBLE THAT HIGHER TAXES WILL BE ONLY FOR THOSE WHO MAKE MORE THAN 250 K! That is a crock
With obamas tax plan those who make over 40k will pay way more taxes than currently
NO WRONG MIKE! OBAMA WILL RAISE TAXES ON PEOPLE WHO MAKE MORE THAN 42K!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
A: I liked McCain's answer last night when he said we pay enough, that congress has to stop spending. Using paying 2 million to study a bears DNA as an example, saying, I don't know if it was for paternity, or criminal HAHA. After last night McCain has it in the bag.
Q: A 15.0-g sample of an unknown metal is heated to 95.5°C and is placed in a coffee cup calorimeter containing 1
A 15.0-g sample of an unknown metal is heated to 95.5°C and is placed in a coffee cup calorimeter containing 186g of water at a temperature of 22.00°C. After the metal cools, the final temperature of the metal and water is 24.25°C. Calculate the specific heat of the metal, assuming that no heat escapes to the surroundings. (You will need to use K for the temperature units in your answer.)
A: In general, heat lost + heat gained = 0
For heat transfer, q (heat) = C*m*delta T
C = specific heat, m = mass, delta T = temperature change
specific heat of water = 4.184 J/g*C
note: delta T is exactly the same for Celcius or Kelvin
C*(15.0 g)*(24.25-95.5 C) + (4.184 J/g*C)(186 g)(24.25-22.00) = 0
C = 1.64 J/g*C for the metal or 1.64 J/g*K if using Kelvin
Q: Which is better, the Tassimo Brewing System or the Keurig?
I know the Tassimo the 169.99 model has a water filter. However it looks cheap to me. The keurig offers a great variety of all drinks. Has anyone had the Gloria Jean K-cup cappucino coffee. How does it taste?
A: I haven't tried either of these machines, but in general, something that makes one thing and is expensive (I checked the price of that Tassimo) usually will make a good cup of coffee. A machine that makes lots of different drinks probably won't be specialized to make as a good a cup of coffee as a machine that specializes. So it depends on what you want. do you want a really good cup of coffee or make lots of different drinks with a so-so cup of coffee and so-so other drinks...hope this helps.
Q: A 30.5 g sample of an alloy at 92.5°C is placed into 47.8 g water at 24.2°C in an insulated coffee cup with a ?
A 30.5 g sample of an alloy at 92.5°C is placed into 47.8 g water at 24.2°C in an insulated coffee cup with a heat capacity of 9.2 J/K. If the final temperature of the system is 31.1°C, what is the specific heat capacity of the alloy?
A: Let UNITs guide you; always USE THEM in your calculation to prevent errors
Firstly, the eqn: alloy + water -----> warmer water + cooler alloy
heat gained by water and cup = heat lost by alloy
heat gained by water and cup = (31.1-24.2)K * (4.186 J/gK * 47.8 g H2O + 9.2J/K calorimeter) = ?? J
heat lost by alloy = spht J/gK * 30.5 g * (92.5-31.1)K
Plug and SOLVE for spht of alloy
