Q: Is there a coffee maker/grinder out there...?
...that stores a pound of beans and grinds up the right amount according to the amount of water you put in it? Or do they all require a daily addition of beans?

A: krups and cuisinart both make grinders like that- you put a pound or however much of beans in and grind as you need, and there is a sealed container for the grounds you don't need that you make every day...macy's carries them both- they're in the 50-60 dollar range. well worth it. i have a crappy free one that gets all mucked up and i have to guess how much coffee every time...my old roommate had the krups one and it was divine. and oddly quiet.....

Q: Could you use a combination Coffee Grinder/ Maker to make homemade soy milk? It looks like the same process.?
I've been shopping soy milk makers online and feel frustrated. I would like one that keeps the beans seperated from the water, has a timer, and makes a high quality soy milk. The only one I've seen that does this is the Bondi Supafine 900, which is not available for use in the US. (Grrr.) http://www.bondiappliance.com/soymilk_maker.htm

A: I have always made my soy milk with just a blender. So I can't say that I have any experience with soy milk machines (in fact, this is the first time I've heard of them). Not sure if you are specifically asking about soy milk machines. However, here is a video link that shows you how to make soy milk with just a blender, big pot and cheese cloth, which is approximately more or less how I make mine.

Q: I want to find a coffe maker roaster and grinder combination that I bought around 1997.?
This machine was made in Japan (I think) and imported to the US. It was a 12 cup coffee maker. It roasted green beans and then ground them and then brewed the coffee. The company made a number of different home coffee roasters and I can't remember the name of the company. I bought the machine from a US distributor whose name escapes me.

A: Indonesia I believe made that type of machine... The combo Roaster, Grinder and Brewer.. The models I am familiar with are the Unimax line, the 551i and the 2000 micro. The link below lists a review of the 2000. Hawaiian Scene Coffee carries three Unimax machines that will roast, cool, grind and brew your coffee for you. Unimax 555si “The Unimax 555si micro roaster brewer has a cozy 5 cup capacity. This is a small Total Brewing System. Using one half ounce of green beans, this machine roasts, cools, grinds, and brews 5 cups of coffee. Great for home use. “ Priced at $287.00 + shipping. Unimax 585si “Unimax 585si is the medium sized Total Brewing System. You can brew 8 great cups of coffee with this model, choosing between several roast settings and enjoy fresh roasted coffee any time away from crowded shops in the comfort of your home.” Priced at $455.00 + shipping. Unimax 425si “Unimax 425si is the large capacity Total Brewing System with a 10 cup capacity. Q: If you roasted soy beans in the oven or skillet, then ground them in a coffee grinder...?
then if you put them into a regular coffee maker with a filter, wouldn't that make soy milk? there must be some way you could make soy milk in a coffee maker..

A: I think that would make a soy substitute for coffee. I don't think they're roasted for soy milk. You could try buying one of those soy milk makers.

Q: Drip Coffee Maker or a French Press?
any opinions on them, I know with a french press you shouldn't have fine ground beans or it will clog the filter. I would just like an opinion. How do you clean the french press? How does the coffee taste? If i get a french press should I get a coffee bean grinder?

A: well french presses make the coffee taste stronger and you would need to get it ground for a french press. the french presses dont have flters just metal mesh.. i work at starbucks and alot of people do coffee tastings wiht the french press o get the full flavor of the coffee. usually always the bottom unscrews and you can just take it apart and clean it from there. but make sure you take a spoon and take otu the coffee grounds and put them in the trash and not down the sink otherwise it will clog... but you will need the cofee to be ground a cerain thickness. if it is too fine of a ground then the coffe press will nto be effecive you will have many small grounds in the cofee so jst make sure you get a grinder that has different settigns and one for french press... if you buy from starbucks you can always ask them to grinfd your coffee fro you for a french press free of charge..

Q: What is the best brand and model coffee maker?
I'd like to pay around $100. I wouldn't mind a bean grinder but that feature is not a necessity. I like coffee strong and hot. I like to make 4 to 6 cups at a time.

A: Cuisinart Grind and Brew. It makes awesome coffee and it has an adjustable heat setting where I only need to keep it one above the middle and that is plenty hot. Also has a special setting if brewing 1-4 cups so it will brew stronger. Def. the best one I have ever had.
