Q: Coffee Beans - How long to grind for drip coffee maker?
I recently joined Seattle Coffee Direct and received coffee beans and Cuisinart coffee grinder. I always just bought ground or ground it using the machine at the grocery store. So, I need advice. How many coffee beans do I put in for a pot of coffee? How long do I grind it to get the right grind for my drip coffee maker? How long do I grind for my percolator (yes, I have one of those too).

A: I have a different grinder, so you might need to experiment with yours. I almost fill the grinder cup (leave some room), and grind while counting to 10. This makes just a little more than enough coffee for a 10-pot coffee pot. This is drip. I haven't used a perc in a long time! Hope this helps.

Q: Has anyone else had problems with this coffee maker?
I bought this Cuisinart coffee maker http://www.cuisinart.com/catalog/product.php?product_id=514&item_id=626&cat_id=3 and I've had nothing but problems with it since I bought it. The door that holds the coffee filter doesn't want to stay shut then when it finally does, I turn the power button on and as soon as it starts to grind the coffee, the door swings open again. I love the coffee it makes when it works properly but its not worth the headache. I'm not sure if I got a lemon and I should take it back and exchange it for a new one or if all of this model have the same problem.

A: i have had the same problem with the door popping open, i love it, but it can sometimes be a hassel, just make sure you clean the part where the coffee grinds, but other than that, it still happens to me occasionally

Q: Looking for a good grinding coffee maker?
I'm looking for a coffee maker that grinds and brews. Cuisinart has some, but their reviews are kind of poor. Does anyone have a good one that has lasted and that works well? My fiance has a Cuisinart one, but it's already starting to mess up after 3 years. Durability is pretty bad for a machine that cost over $1000. Any ideas? Sorry. It cost $150! I'm not that rich (I wish I were though)

A: I have the Cuisinart digital grind and brew, with the silver carafe. It is wonderful and the 180.00 I paid is well worth it. I still have mine 6 years later.

Q: Why do my cuisinart coffee makers all die as soon as warranty is done?
My first 2 were DCC1200's. Clocks failed on both. Random times kept showing, program times self erased, etc. The last was a DCC2000. The unit has to be unplugged for a while before it will fire up again, then totally powers off after brewing. Clock dies fully. At first I thought my outlet was faulty, but the same thing happens in any outlet. So now I guess I need another CF...chances are slim it will be a cuisinart Just an added note: As I cannot find the receipt, the date stamp on the underside of the unit dictates warranty is valid until 8/08. So it seems they will replace it. I just hope it doesnt repeat.

A: I've I hade mine for as long as I can remember (on my 4th carafe, but thats my fault). Still works and looks great (did away with that silly water filter thing, I have great well water)

Q: What is the best "grind and brew" automatic coffee maker?
I'm looking for an automatic "Grind and Brew" coffee maker with a timer. This type of coffee maker automatically grinds whole beans and brews the coffee for you based on timer settings. There are a few on the market from Cuisinart and Capresso, but not many reviews out there. Can anyone either recommend one or warn me about ones that don't work very well?

A: I have a Cuisinart Automatic Grind & Brew Thermal and it works quite well for me. I add the water and place the beans in the grinder and program it to go off right b4 I get up. It shuts off with 5 beeps when the coffee is finished and stays hot to warm for a few hours. The only thing is that, sometimes, I have to use the grinder twice to make sure all of the beans are ground down (I guess I like a STRONG cup of coffee). I found the coffee maker a liquidator shop and paid $77 for it.
