Q: How do you use a small press coffee maker?
Our daughter gave us a small press coffee maker. There are no instructions and we have never used one. Does anyone have instructions?
A: Put 10 grams of course ground coffee per cup and the hot water in the jug then place the piston on top but don't press down yet. Wait 2 minutes then press down to the bottom. The coffee grounds are trapped at the bottom beneath the piston and you just pour the coffee into the cup.
This method was invented by the Italien Caliman in 1933. the piston coffee maker infuses the coffee rather than boiling it . The best known brand is the French "la Melior" . This is the preparation method coffee tasters prefer.

Q: Coffee help, I bought a small coffee maker 4 c and my coffee tastes awful. I am not sure if the coffee I had?
was old, but I know since until now never drank coffee. How do I make good coffee, and what is the best coffee to buy. I am using the brown filters because they seem to make the coffee taste bette, not sure if that is right, and I used Gourmet Folgers but I am sure I had for it 2 years unopened. Pls help nasty coffee in my coffee cup. I did use splendid and store brand creamer also. Looking for that deli best coffee
My coffee maker is new and made by Mr Coffee, it also came with a cute black scoop which I used. I put four scoops in the 4 cup coffee maker and I used cold spring water from my spring water cooler I rent. Maybe it's the old folgers coffee, or because I used cold water. Not sure but it tastes blah
A: Ist thing to do is throw out your coffee and machine!! Prepare to spend money!! Advise yourself to avoid most canned coffee especially national brands. Use whole bean (Arabica) only not (robusto) which is the primary coffee type in most canned coffee.Get yourself a (burr) grinder $50-300 Get a premium drip coffee maker (short brew cycle) brew temp 195-205F The ideal temp for extraction without excess bitterness Kitchen Aid Pro is a good one $300 Or get a commercial machine,( smallest one) Mr coffee markets one made by (Newco) which is real good Buy the best coffee you can find (Gevalia) is great (mail order only) You can select exactly what coffee you want and get automatic mailings, Use the European method for coffee brewing (1) std coffee measure (1/8) cup of freshly ground coffee per 6 oz of water,You can also get pretty good coffee at Costco wholesale,or Starbucks if you like dark roasts, experiment with light, medium, and dark roasts to find out where your palate is .Coffee can be great, alas most is no better than dirty sock water Enjoy your coffee,Also get a book on coffee Read, learn, enjoy. lastly use filtered or bottled water only..
Q: I am looking for a small commercial coffee maker. Intend for my new kiosk business.?
Can i use those coffee makers sold in Supermarkets? Are those only for home use ? Would it be good enough for a kiosk business ? Which Brand is good ?
A: In my previous experience as hotelier/F&B provider..i would recommend you to use SAECA by BONCAFE coffee espresso machine
http://www.boncafe.co.th/prods/equipment/se2000-ms85.php3
as it is among the best, easy usage & maintenance,
plus it make great fresh brewed coffee & espresso!..you can make cappucino at the same time too!..
Those sold in supermarkets are meant to be used at home where usage volume is not high thus it will not last longer in cafe business like yours where demands from these kind of beverages are high.
The best thing about this brand, it also comes with it own coffee brand Boncafe http://www.boncafe.co.th/prods/coffee/retail.php3, which i simply love the fresh taste and smell..there many kinds of coffee they produce such as Arabica (my favourite).
Hope this will help!
Q: What's the best small portion coffee maker?
A: Alessi make a 2 cup expresso pot.
Q: how do you get proper froth in milk from a steam spout on your average coffee maker at home.?
I'm trying to get the great level of froth you get at the coffee bars from my small coffee maker at home. The steam spout at the coffee bars doesn't look any different, but all I manage to get is a small level of froth. I've tried tipping the container to one side, but it just seems that when the milk is heated all the way through I just get a volcano action going on i.e. milk starts flying everywhere.
A: The trick is to start with cold milk - once it boiled you won't get any froth.
Fill your jug (at least 1 1/2 pint size) about half way and hold it so the tip of the steamer spout is just under the surface of the milk, and against the edge of the jug. Hold the jug at an angle of approx 30 degrees with the steamer tip against the side of the jug that's facing down (not the handle side)
Turn on the steam making sure it doesn't splash and gently rock the jug as you create the froth on the surface of the milk. Again, make sure it doesn't get too hot or you'll not get any froth.
I hope this makes sense, good luck and don't forget to top your cappuccino with a little sprinkle of chocolate!
Q: How do I make coffee stronger?
I have a small coffee maker at home that makes at least four cups of coffee, how many spoons of coffee should I use to make it stronger?
A: You want really stronger coffee add about 6 tablespoons of coffee. Have you ever tried Pilon Coffee? It is mostly used for Cafe Con Leche and in Pilon makers. It is a stronger brand of coffee & I use it in my capachino machine! Yummy!
Q: Where can I find a small Mr. Coffee maker?
A smaller than a 12 cup drip coffee maker
A: Mr Coffee makes a 4 cup pot. I got mine at walmart.
Q: What is the "BEST" coffee maker out there?
I am in search of a good cup of homemade coffee....I currently use a small drip coffee maker and have tried several different brands of coffee however I am failing to get that fresh brewed wonderful taste one gets from places like Tim Hortons...What am I doing wrong? I was informed It might be the actual coffee maker. What is the "BEST" coffee maker to use and what other tricks do you use to get the best cup of homemade coffee?
A: i personally would go to Wize.com and search coffee makers. You can then sort the list by Wize Rank. It will give you the best rated coffee makers.
Q: How many watts (or amps) does a drip coffee maker use?
I am interested in the electric load required to run a small Mr. Coffee type drip coffee maker - either in watts or amps. The one I uses is a very small one - 4 cup capacity, but I expect the heating element is the same as the larger (8, 12 cup) models.
A: yep look on the bottom name plat it ill say voltage watts example 1,500 watts at 120 volts is = to 12.5 amps
Q: Recently, I noticed small fruit flies around my coffee maker. Why?!?
It seems these fruit flies or very small flying insects are attracted to my coffee pot. What is attracting them and how do I prevent them from coming back? The flies look light orange with red eyes.
A: God No! They sound like vinegar fruit flies! I had them in my apartment in college (luckily I took Entomology and could identify them). They are attracted to fruit (especially bananas) and lay their eggs on fruit that's just past peak-over ripening. I believe they are also fond of garbage cans and garbage disposals (the yuckiness found inside). This is how I got rid of them.
#1 Put all fruit in the refrigerator or sealed in ziplock plastic bags.
#2 Put the lid on the disposal
#3 Put a lid (secure) on your garbage can and change it at least 2-3 times a week until this is over.
#4 Kill them by clapping them between your hands (in sounds crazy, but I've killed them off by doing this).
They're smart little buggers - they seem to disappear as soon as you miss them, so good luck. Unfortunately once you exterminate them, you can always bring them back home to you from the supermarket!! :) Again, a good clean kitchen is the best defense against these guys! Clean up that coffee pot by using vinegar or soaking it in soapy water in the sink! Good luck!
Q: Best small coffee machine?
I am looking for a small coffee machine. Just a cup or two and not those 12-15 cup coffee maker. What brand is the best for what I'm looking for?
A: I love my Black and Decker Brew and Go. It is fast, makes up to 2 cups, and takes up little space on the counter in the kitchen.

Q: where can I find a 4 cup coffee maker that mounts under a cabinet---small?
A: tim hortons
Q: Anybody knows WMF 1 Coffee Maker?
I'm looking to buy a small filter coffee maker and this WMF 1 has got me interested some how. Any suggestion? Is it as good as a bigger (proper) filter coffee maker?
A: The WMF 1 is a pod coffee system. These are selling for 30-40 bucks which isn't bad for this type of machine. If you don't drink very much coffee this might be a good option. If you are used to drinking Folgers or some other canned coffee from the grocery store the WMF 1 would be a step up. If you buy coffee house quality coffee and/or grind it yourself this would be a step down since the pods are not "the freshest" compared to buying your own. There are several options out there that brew single cups of coffee that aren't as aesthetically pleasing as the sleek looking WMF 1 but allow you to brew whatever coffee you want from pre-ground Folgers to the $450/lb Kopi Luak coffee. I guess what I am saying is that if you just want a quick cup of coffee from a machine that looks cool, go right ahead with the WMF 1 but, if you are more of a geek about your coffee there are better options out there for you.
Q: Coffee makers for low price?
Does anyone know where I can find a coffee maker for around 10 to 15 dollars? I'm heading off to college so I want one that is small and cheap.
A: They were on sale for like 10.99 at walmart two months ago. I don't know if you have a walmart where you are but that would be a good place to start!!
